  • Department of environmental chemistry and engineering of ICTM was established in March of 2016th and consists of two teams:

    - Team of environmental chemistry
    - Team of environmental engineering

Main research areas of the Team of environmental chemistry are:

The study of migration, transformation and interaction of pollutants in the environment (atmospheric aerosols, soil and sediments) with environmental and health risks assessments
Assessment of mutagenicity and potential of natural biodegradation of pollutants in ecosystems by computational chemistry methods
Exploring solutions for pollutants removal оn their emissions sources and developing new methods for measuring and monitoring the fate of pollutants in the environment
Combined experimental and theoretical investigations of the influences of changes of process parameters on structural and morphological properties of new mesoporous materials for photocatalytic removal of organic contaminants from water in order to preserve natural resources
Main research areas of the Team of environmental engineering are:

Processes and design of equipments for waste water treatment applying an electric current for total removal or reduce their concentration below the acceptable limit
Recycling of used electrode systems and repair of worn electrical materials
Synthesis of cross-linked polyurethanes for industrial coatings with good mechanical, thermal, and surface properties and good chemical resistance with a long service life in order to reduce waste
Developing of new surface modified titanium dioxide nanoparticles using different types of modifiers
Synthesis of unsaturated polyester and alkyd resins from products obtained by glycolysis of waste poly(ethylene terephthalate)
Synthesis of agricultural films from natural polymers, and the production of unsaturated polyester resin from biomonomeras
