      Ministry of Development is giving funds for infrastructure development. For example GEOPORTAL, serving RASAT satellite images freely to end-users in Turkey, is a nice example of it and developing ground station system for the operation of current active and future satellite missions.

      TÜBİTAK has doing works on it. TÜBİTAK had 10 year plan and will revise it in 2016.

      Turkish Republic Ministy of Development - Widespread Application of Sustainable Precision Agriculture Practices in South-eastern Anatolia Project Region is one of the good examples of usage of EO in sustainable agriculture. In this project the consortium has private company as partner.

      Prime Ministry Disaster & emergency Management Authority uses satellite images during response and recovery period of disasters like flood.
      Republic of Turkey General Directorate of Forestry uses satellite images for forest fire monitoring. Turkish Republic Ministy of Development - Widespread Application of Sustainable Precision Agriculture Practices in South-eastern Anatolia Project Region is one of the good examples of usage of EO in sustainable agriculture.

    • 6. Can you give examples of high impact EO dedicated workshops organized in your country in the last decade?

      “Earth Observation Satellite Technologies and Usage of Satellite Data” was held from 19 to 20 March 2014 in Ankara, Turkey. This event was a national event organized by Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Development, Ministry of Science, Industry and Development and TUBITAK UZAY. There were around 250 participants from the governmental organizations and the academy. Other than this event there are some important conferences and workshops regularly organized in Turkey like 5th Symposium on Remote Sensing & GIS (14 - 17 October 2014); ISPRS Technical Commission VII Symposium (29 September - 2 October 2014); Union of Chambers of Turkish Engineers and Architects, Union of Mapping and Cadastre Engineers, 15th Turkish Mapping Scientific and Technical Convention (25-28 March 2015); IEEE 23nd Signal Processing, Communication and Applications Conference (16-19 May 2015); VIIIth Symposium of The National Union for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing of Turkey (TUFUAB 2015) (21-22 May 2015). Some of these events are organized in each year or once in each two year.
